An historical place to live

The Domaine de la Laigne was born in the 18th century in the heart of a green environment and was dedicated to the breeding of cognac until the 60’s, before becoming this Charentais haven which today offers a unique experience of stays, events and accommodation.

Near the small castle of the hamlet, a tiny village has been built around a large courtyard, dedicated to the works for the lords of the Domaine and for the life of the workers who lived here. You can find on the Domaine many agricultural environments near living areas, harmoniously arranged in a rural and functional way, built by the successive families who lived here.

Nearly three centuries later, the Domaine de la Laigne has forgotten nothing of this authentic and prestigious heritage, and pays tribute to the great hours of its life linked to cognac, by preserving all its identity in its recent restoration. The cottages offer you the opportunity to spend a night in the Four à Pain, « Bread Oven », the Ecuries, « Stables », or the Alambic, “Still”, where there is a large stone trough, or a huge wood-burning oven… The old masonry and ancestral beams echo past times, but now offer warm, modern comfort, where Wi-Fi is available throughout the site and where all the modern facilities blend respectfully into this context of tamed contrasts.
